In less than a year, three new scenarios of crisis emerged within the EU or at its external borders. The takeover by the Talibans in Afghanistan in 2021 further destabilised an extremely fragile country and forced thousands of people to flee. At the same time, Belarus is deemed to have forced around 10.000 migrants to move to neighboring EU countries, whose emergency measures have posed the human rights of migrants at serious risk. Finally, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has forced millions people to flee since 24 February 2022, in addition to more than 4 million internally displaced persons. It is crucial to keep high the attention on these ongoing migration plights and not to forget about them. The seminar aims also to evaluate the response of the EU to manage these three migration emergencies.
